Hello! Welcome back to Billy Bob's Bulletin. A few special things to talk about this month, plus the usual dose of VegaNova rambling on and on like always. I'll try to keep it interesting so you won't have to suffer too much. :P

I must say that this past month has been great for me. My collecting spirit has been reborn almost. See, I don't know if I've ever really said it before, but I'm a die hard collector. Collecting is in my blood - my father is that way, which is probably where I picked it up from.

In the past I've collected tons of stuff including Stamps, Coins, Baseball Cards, Non-sport Cards, Comic Books, Star Wars figures, Ninja Turtles, GI Joes, Power Rangers Stuff, Unique Pop Cans, and I even had a pretty decent collection of elements (yes - as in the elements found on the periodic table).

But collecting any one thing for too long always led to bordem. I'd always seem to move on to the next thing - It came to the point where I just wanted to collect something different. (This was about the time that I was introduced to the internet.) It didn't take long for me to start looking up information on my favorite childhood enchantment - Showbiz Pizza Place...

Only to find absolutely nothing. So I dug through my house trying to find all of my old SPP stuff, and all I could find were a couple dolls and a glass mug. I wanted more - and the fact that there were no places to find Showbiz stuff for sale on the net only made my obsession worse. (I actually picked up collecting CEC stuff because Showbiz stuff was too hard to come by.) And my CEC collection was probably my biggest collection ever - it was to the point where I could no longer display it all and most of it ended up packed away in boxes.

Prototype Animatronic

Prototype Billy Bob
  • This rare prototype was one a few that were built in 1985 by Aaron Fechter.
And I must admit that it was kinda hard to part with my CEC collection. My friends thought I was crazy for deciding to sell it all. I was worried that since Showbiz items are so few and far between, my collecting habit wouldn't be satisfied. But to my surprise that hasn't become a problem yet.

This month has been like a dream come true for me. It's insane the amount of ShowBiz Pizza Collectables I've stumbled across. (Thank you so much guyver-x!) Alot of the items I've gotten have been things that I never would have dreamed of getting. Like the Prototype Billy Bob pictured in the collector spot of the month above - I would call that my newest prized possession. Yeah, he was pricey but then again I never bother with that. That's the difference between collecting and investing - when money becomes a real issue then it becomes investing. Alot of my CEC stuff I paid mad prices for because I never considered selling it off. But luckily I've been pretty lucky with getting most of (if not more than) I paid for most of my items.
Interesting Fact
of the Month

Colander Head Night was a special promotion at Showbiz Pizza Place during a few months in 1983. The idea came about one night when Burt Wilson was sitting around putting a colander on his head. The idea soon took shape and turned into a major RAE event, including a contest to win a family dream vacation.

My Chuck E. Cheese collection is still being sold off, so for those interested, there's a ton of stuff available. Auctions by VegaNova on eBay will be hosting some of the better stuff, and all the rest is being dumped on my sale page. Right now I have a ton of different plushes listed. I think that I've catalogued about 140 items so far, and haven't touched on alot of stuff yet. So keep checking back. Other than that I can't think of too much else to say for this month, so I'll just end it here.

I'll be back next month!
