ISSUE #9 - February, 2001
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hello once again. I hope that everyone's been well, and I want to say thanks to all of my visitors! Last Month's traffic has exceeded any expectations I ever had for this site. I'm going to do my best to keep the updates persistant even though I now have a weekend job (which cuts into my updating time). It may not last for very long though.

Well we can start off with the newsworthy stuff. Just recently a Chuck E. Cheese CD was auctioned off over eBay - and, as no surprise, the auction was pulled before it could end. The auction was most likely pulled because it was probably a CD-R (which eBay won't allow). The interesting thing is that the CD had gained a decent number of bids and gathered a fairly high price when I last saw it. Regardless of the fact it was pulled, the auction proved that there is a demand for CEC music. Perhaps CEC Entertainment Inc. should consider releasing CDs for sale in the gift shops. This way youngsters could enjoy CEC at home (and make them want to come back), plus it would satisfy us collectors who really enjoy the music.

Now don't get me wrong - I'm no marketing expert, but I think that this could really work. I know that my Showbiz records were very influential in my childhood. It was kinda like having Showbiz at home until I could con my parents into taking me there. They acted like a constant stream of advertising in a way. Plus if showtapes were released on CD (after the show was no longer being used) they could continue to profit on material that would otherwise be worthless to them. Kind of like the release of movies - in order to see the new movies you have to go to a theater, but months later you can own the movie on video. Same concept here - to see the new shows you'd have to go to the restuarant, but later on you could own a copy of the music.

Alright, that's my two cents for this month. Time to move onto something else. I was looking through a search engine awhile back, and I found this website which caught my attention. It featured a small article about my website and the webmaster had some very nice things to say about it. I felt that it would only be fitting to say thanks by making his site the "Cool Website of the Month". Take a minute to check it out, there's lots of neat stuff to read up on.

There's also a mention in that article about the chat night we had last October. Nick and I have been thinking of hosting another chat night in the near future, maybe later this month or so. Would anyone be interested in something like that? If so, just let either of us know and we'll see what we can arrange. The last chat night was pretty successful I thought. It was great to see thoughts and conversation happen in realtime without the delay of email. Plus it would be cool to see just how much the Showbiz / CEC fanbase has grown since October.

Also anyone who attended the last chat session (or wasn't able to because of work, etc), drop me an e-mail if you have any suggestions or thoughts on how we could improve the chat over last time.

Brain Log
  • This site is a web log of all sorts of neat stuff. No theme in particular, but has info and links to several interesting sites and articles. Check the Oct 27, 2000 entry to see a mention of my website.

Well, I'm all tapped out for this month. The fan section is still being assembled, but it should have stuff in it very soon. Also I'm looking for anyone who would want to put up a fan pages about themselves. They would be basically be "about me" pages for people to share their experiences with SPP or CEC, and also tell about their interests. Anyone who might be interested or wants further details, just drop me an e-mail!

See You Next Month,
