ISSUE #17 - October, 2001 Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage
I can't believe it's October already. It seems like summer was just yesterday. Then again, the calender in my room is still set on July because I've been too lazy to change it. But anyway, this month's issue details the last stretch of my summer road trip. So kick back and enjoy!

After seeing Creative Engineering, my main goal was just to get home safely, but there was alot more to see along the way. Our first stop was Walt Disney World. The main reason that I wanted to visit here was because I've wanted to as far back as I can remember. Wanting to visit a Disney theme park but never getting to was what sparked my ShowBiz obsession in the first place. Plus Disney had the Country Bears which is where the Rock-afire got it's roots from. I have to mention that Disney was every bit as great as they make it out to be. I've been to alot of amusement parks, but none could ever hold a candle to Disney. Also Disney was immaculate - you probably could have eaten off the ground.
The Country Bear Jamboree was pretty nice. They definetely did their job in properly maintaining it. I was mostly amazed by the stage theatrics - rotating stages, characters that emerged from the ground and dropped from the celing. That was probably the best part, but they're animation seemed more sluggish and not as active as the Rock-afire's. Aside from the CBJ, Disney had some animatronics in Tomorrowland that blew my mind - I had to really look to be sure that it wasn't some guy acting like a robot.
Disney was was weird experience. I always talked about ShowBiz as being my "generic" Disney or the next best thing. But after my love for ShowBiz has grown so much, it's ended up being that Disney that fell short in comparision with ShowBiz and the Rock-afire Explosion. It's kinda neat how things are altered by time and dedication like that.

Cool Picture of the Month |
Snap's Rock-afire
- Here's a picture of Snap's center stage Rock-afire show.

Our last Rock-afire related stop was Snap's place to see his show in action. For those of you who don't know, Snap actually bought the center stage RAE and had it installed in his house! And what's more, his show ran as good, if not better, than Creative's show.
Snap was a really cool guy and a great host to my friends and I. We must have stayed there for 5 or 6 hours talking and watching his show. His setup with the lighting and sound system rocks - we got to see the Rock-afire the way there were meant to be seen. I had a blast, but around 1 AM, my fatigued friend turned to me and told me that he'd had enough Billy Bob for one road trip. So the only thing left was a long drive back home. And so ended the coolest trip I've been on thus far. I have lots and lots of pictures which will be posted sometime after I get everyone else's stuff posted. I'll see you back here next month, with more stuff to blab about.
