ISSUE #18 - November, 2001
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hello everyone. I want to appologize for the lack of updates and me being "out of the picture" for most of the past month or so. I've just been swamped with school and work. But even though it's rough working so much on the weekends (when I would normally be updating), I can't really complain. Having a steady income makes it all worth it.

Nevertheless, I haven't given up on my ShowBiz obsessing. In fact, I have to do a series of paintings for one of my classes and I decided to do the interior of my appartment. Naturally I had to include alot of the Rock-afire props that I have lying around because I have them literally scattered throughout my house. What was weird was my class' reaction when I ended up explaining to them that I had a Mitzi robot in my living room. Some of them were excited and thought it was really cool, and others wondered how I could sleep at night knowing that thing was in the room next to me... as if it could come alive or something. Everyone had a good chuckle though. I don't know, it was just weird for me I guess because virtually nobody I know, except those really close to me, has any idea about this website.

One cool thing that's happened over the past month is that the page counter surpassed 50,000 hits. That really does amaze me, especially that everyone has retained their interest over the years and the community keeps conversing on the message board. Also I want to give Special thanks to "ShowBiz" and "Chuckster713" for contributing to the message board and getting rid of those nasty advertisements. Thanks to them we can all talk ad-free for the next 6 months.

Large Fatz Doll

Fatz
  • I bet alot of you missed this one - he was auctioned on eBay a few months ago and sold right away for a little over $6 because of the "Buy it now" feature.

CEC and Friends
  • This photo was submitted by Mike. It is CEC and friends at a mascot football game in Nashville, TN.

Well, some CEC reels were auctioned on eBay this past week. 5 of them to be exact, and all of them sucessfully ended. Of course they only ended by bad timing, because the day after they completed, eBay removed all information of them from it's directory. Whoops. Looks like CEC was too slow this time to crack down and stop this criminal seller from auctioning off tapes that are usless to anyone except someone who cares enough about CEC to bother collecting it (sarcasm intended). But no points off for trying CEC, better luck next time.

On a lighter note, Looney Bird's in Jackson, TN is opening on November 19th, and it's grand opening is slated for the 24th. It's really nice to know that a restaurant is opening to introduce a new generation of children to the Classic Rock-afire show. It may be 20 years later, but the magic will forever be there. Best of luck to Jeff who's pulling this whole concept together. If anyone can make it out to see this place by all means do so! The official website can be seen by clicking here.

See you next month!
