ISSUE #20 - January, 2002

Hello again and Happy New Year. I hope that everyone had a great holiday season, and I also hope that you enjoy the new header for Billy Bob's Bulletin. There's actually quite a bit to talk about this month which is nice. There's alot that could happen this upcoming year and there's a sense of excitement in the air.

But first lets take a step back into 2001. On Christmas day, Shalisa (the voice of Mitzi) appeared with Toxic Audio on ABC as part of "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade". Although Wayne Brady (star of Who's Line is it Anyway?) hogged the spotlight, Shalisa still got a decent amount of camera time. The only problem was that Toxic's performance didn't do justice to their abilities. A shame too, because they really are quite impressive. Shalisa still sounds alot like Mitzi, probably because she, you know... was Mitzi.

Changing gears to 2002, there's one thing that makes this year special. Love him or hate him, Chuck E. Cheese turns 25 this year. So far there's been no word of a 25th Anniversary showtape, but if they celebrate like they did back in 1997 for his 20th, expect a blits of commerative merchandise. Last time around, CEC released everything from collectable drinking cups, mousepads, exclusive Hotwheels, and individually numbered cookie jars. There was something for everyone in a variety of price ranges.

  • Here's a nice photo of the old Balcony stage from Newington, NH (1984). Thanks to Jenn for the pic!

Which also means that in the following months I'll do my best to bring you CEC news and keep eveyone informed and updated. I've found a few sources recently which should help me to do that, so everyone stick around. VegaNova may just have to bury the hatchet with corporate CEC and jump on the bandwagon. Maybe not, but who knows? You'll want to check the message board often because that's where all the talk's going down.

Surprisingly enough I have a recent Showbiz Pizza Place tidbit to report on. Sort of. There's a Denver radio station (Alice 106 - KALC) which has the Greg and Bo talk show weekday mornings. I happened to be passing through stations and ended up listening to it for awhile. They were doing a segment called "Rock, Roll, and Remember" on Monday Jan 7th. Basically just people calling in to reminisce about things of the past. I no sooner finished thinking how cool it would be for someone to call in and mention ShowBiz when somebody actually did. Unfortunately nobody know what the heck he was talking about. No surprise there, hardly anyone I talk to remembers ShowBiz. So kudos to whoever it was that called in, and to Greg and Bo, you guys are morons. I think I'll end it there.

See you again next month!
