Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Surprisingly enough I have obsessions that range beyond ShowBiz, and normally I can hold them back, but seeing Yoda weilding a lightsaber is enough to make any Star Wars fan weak in the knees and drool with excitement.

Since it's been a slow news month in the ShowBiz / CEC world, I'll focus on the new Star Wars movie, Episode II - Attack of the Clones. I know it's off topic but this is my site and I can do whatever I want to. Ok, I didn't mean that, please stay, I'll throw in some CEC information - I promise!

This website was in it's infancy (actually planning stages) when Episode 1 came out 3 years ago. That summer, Star Wars sorta overshadowed everything else that was going on around me. Living right close to Denver we got to go to the SW Celebration. When I found out that it was going to be here in Colorado I bought tickets immediately and dragged my family along. Despite the cold, hard rain that lasted for 3 straight days, it was still a blast. We got a few of the action figures before anyone else could buy them. Plus (literally) bags of free junk that they were handing out... one per person, yeah right. We spent the better part of a day making circles and loading up freebies. But the highlight of the celebration was getting to shake Darth Maul's (Ray Park) hand. We also got autographs from some of the other celebrities that were there. Definetely a keeper in the old memory book.

  • Who could ever forget this classic scene of Qui-Gon Chuck battling it out with the Sith lord Darth Cheeze?

So anyway Episode II hits theaters on May 16th. Go see it, see it twice! I saw Episode I 7 times, but I think I can break that record this time around. Plus the connections to ShowBiz are nearly endless. Yoda's a puppet, so is Earl. The new bad guy is named Count DOOKu. Chuck E. Cheese fell to the dark side just like Anakin. Also the new Yoda action figure is so cool. You need him, trust me.

Well, last but not least, CEC turns 25 this month. I would have said more about it, but since CEC doesn't seem too concerned with it there's really not much to talk about. But for those who do care about CEC, I'm going to have something going on later this month. You can celebrate Chuck E.'s Birthday and help out with this site at the same time.

See you again next month!
