ISSUE #34 - May, 2003 Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage
Hello folks. I hope that everyone had a good Memorial day and is looking forward to summer as much as I am. Yeah, I'll have to work for the summer, but such is life I guess. There's a few things that I wanted to address this month that I think are important so I'll start there.

There's been some talk on the message board regarding the situation at Creative Engineering and talk about CEC's newer policies such as kid check. As fans we definetely have the right to be concerned about the future and what's around the corner... however we also have to accept some hard truths every now and then. It's hard to report anything newsworthy here in the bulletin because quite honestly not much is ever going on. ShowBiz Pizza is gone forever. Pizza Time Theatre is also gone forever. Every now and then something slightly related will come along such as the new ShowBiz in Dubai, Looney Birds, or when CEC's does something retro relating to their incredible past. Unfortunately that's the best any of us can hope for. It's terrible to think this, but that's just the way things go sometimes.
Much of the material at Creative is depleated to the point of no return. The shows are mostly gone, and the parts and machines needed to ever put the show back into production are not there. Not that there would ever be a reason to. When I first started collecting ShowBiz stuff and putting this site together, I always had big dreams and hopes, but even more than that, I had questions. Well, as time passed those questions found answers and eventually I was lead to the truth that all I had hoped for was in vain.

| I guess that I could report all the news from CEC every month, but it's more of the same. Cut corners here, make more money there. Seriously too, if there's ever any doubt find a copy of the company's mission statement. If something cool happens I don't mind passing the info along, but for the most part there's not much good to report. Animatronic based Pizza Chains may be a dead art form, but money making will never be. Not a very hopefull combination.
BUT - I'm still around and so are all of you. Everything I've stated above has been this way for over a decade, and yet we stick around. Why? Because all of this still exists within us. For those of us who were lucky enough to attend a ShowBiz or a PTT got to take in a part of history that was unparalled in it's entertainment value and will never be duplicated again. It's hard to say... by updating this site and connecting fans I'm either beating a dead horse or breathing a bit of new life into it. With 150,000+ index page hits I think that it's been worth all the trouble and then some. I guess my point is to not be dissapointed if the future doesn't bring back SPP and PTT, but to realize that this is the future. This is what we have and we should make the most of it.
See you again soon! - VegaNova |

Billy Bob's Blatant Endorsement |
Toxic Audio CD #3 - Chemistry
This is the latest CD from Toxic Audio which features Shalisa James (voice of Mitzi) along with the coolest all vocal group around! I've had this CD for months now and I still listen to it all the time. They actually remind me quite a bit of the Rock-afire, in the sense that they're music isn't overly deep or serious. It's fun and light hearted - Music for music's sake. So go buy it and give them a try. Oh, and the hidden Muppets track is hilarious!
