ISSUE #44 - May, 2004
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hello everyone! Memorial Day weekend is upon us and that means summer is right around the corner. And 2004 is the best summer yet to be a ShowBiz / CEC fan in my humble oppinion. There are two major projects in the works for this summer - Rock-a-Palooza and the Cheesevention.

For those of you who live in a cave or under a rock, Rock-a-Palooza is an annual event for Rock-afire fans and can be found right here on ShowBiz Pizza.com. This year is our second attempt at this so we're hoping that it's much more fun and involved than last year's RAP. For starters, the event will run for an entire week this year instead of the single day like in 2003. It's tentatively scheduled to happen the last week of July (that's the 25th through the 31st for those keeping score). Also for this year's RAP, the rest of the website will remain open for your viewing pleasure. We've resolved many of the bandwidth issues that plagued us in the past, so everything should run smoothly this go around.

RAP 2004 will have a new contest that is much more accessible to everyone than last years Colander contest. This time the prize will be an exclusive vinyl CD-R available only at this event. Just how do you get your hands on this free booty? By collecting tickets and codes, hidden on secret pages throughout RAP - just like ShowBiz. If you're collecting these from the Fan Club, you'll definetely want to get one of these. Plus it's free!

Also old faves will be returning like the 'You Don't Know Fatz' quiz, and gags of days past like 'The Adventures of Billy Bob' and 'The RAE Enquirer'. New additions include Vol 2 of the Enquirer, high quality classic photos, rare company documents, new showtape reviews, and lots of hidden surprises. More on this in the next bulletin.

Chuck E. Cheese's Poster

  • This is an older poster from CEC's Fan Club - you can be Chuck E.'s favorite fan too if you go to the Cheesevention in August.

Also looming on the summer calendar is Cheesevention - the first ever gathering of CEC fans. The date and location is friday, August 20th, at the famous Chuck E. Cheese's in Danvers, Mass. And the rumors you've been hearing are indeed true - I will be attending this event! Several other fans from the message board are already planning to attend, so this will be a great chance to meet one another and have a fun evening. I do understand that it's quite a distance for many to attend (including myself), but I believe it will be well worth the effort if you can find a way to get there. Also for fans who happen to live in the New England and surrouding area, this would be a great weekend or day trip.

I've never been this far into the Northeast before so it will be quite an adventure for me. Since this may be my only trip out that way for awhile, I especially encourage people to attend, simply because I'd love to meet you and put faces with names I've seen only online. As of today, my plan is to spend the weekend up there so if you're coming in from out of town and staying for a few days, I'm always up for hanging out and swaping stories and such. Plus there's many nearby attractions.

More on the Cheesevention will be posted on this site very soon, including an event list, traveling directions, nearby attractions, and hotel information. In the meantime, if you're interested in attending - current and new information surrounding the event can be found right here.

Well that's all for this month - be sure to check back next month for an in-depth Bulletin for June/July. It will be a bi-monthly issue to free up time for RAP. Full coverage of the upcoming RAP and updates on Cheesevention will be addressed. Also it's the 4-year anniversary of Billy Bob's Bulletin. That means everyone's been hearing me jabber on about nothing for 4 full years. How cool and yet sad and depressing at the same time. Anywho...

See ya soon!
