ISSUE #46 - August, 2004
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hey everyone! Well, it's August and that means Rock-a-Palooza is behind us and CheeseVention is right on the horizon. That's where I want to start this month because there's still time to make plans to attend!

CheeseVention is coming quickly (August 20th) and plans are now in the final stages. I've just sent off the first pack of CV swag on route to Danvers and the rest of the items are being made. Since the number of attendees is modest, I've decided to include a CV exclusive Vinyl CD-R for all attendees. This of course is similar to the giveaway ones for RAP and the ones available through our fan club. If you can't make it to CV and happen to be collecting these, don't fret because all of the vinyl CD-Rs will be available to fan club members in the future. There will be some exclusive ShowBiz Pizza.com items that will be given away as prizes at CV which will not be available elsewhere though.

Yes, the registration date for CV has passed, but we still want you to come if you can. If you're in the Northeast and it's possible for you to make the trek there, please do so! It'll be something to remember for sure. Depeding on what course CV takes after this year, you'll always be able to say that you were there - you were at the first CheeseVention. Plus I've been let in on some of the surprises that'll happen there. As much as I want to spill the beans, I can't - I'm sworn to secrecy on this one. I'll just say that it'll be off the wall, something I never thought I'd live to see. In my opinion this'll make the trip worthwile all by itself! Again, all up to date information and news regarding CV can be found here.

  • This sign was an old B-day promo from PTT. Thanks to Kevin for the pic!

Personally I think that Rock-a-Palooza went pretty well! I enjoyed doing it and I did get a lot of nice and very complimentative e-mails regarding the event. So for the future, we'll definetely keep it running for an entire week as we did this year. The bandwidth held up and nothing was shut down as far as I know of. Other than that, it's pretty wide open as far as subject matter. I'm hoping to again include much of the good material from this time around (High quality photos) and keeping some sections but changing the material they have (like the Documents for example).

Also I personally thought that the Hilary Duff thing was off the hook - I don't know how many others "got it" but I loved doing it. It was nice to be able to stray from SPP and CEC for a moment and still have an audience (you were all lured in by your ticket hunting greed). Heh heh, blindly waltzing right into my master plan. Suckers!

  • These went with the "Hard Luck RAE" photos that were appart of the RAE Enquirer Vol. 2 - thought I'd post the rest of the set for those who wanted to see.

Ok I'm sorry, you're not suckers. But I did enjoy the online contest. We had a lot more winners this time around than before which was cool. Next RAP we might do a joint contest of sorts, maybe a ticket hunt plus something more involved like the Colander contest in '03. I also have a few new surprises that are already in the works as well, but that's me... always looking ahead to the next event before I'm finished with the one I'm working on.

Since I'll be signing off for awhile, I want to give some updates about upcoming updates to the website. Right now I'm looking into the possibility of getting another account going and really bulking up some of the site sections that have been neglected for sometime. Namely, the Fan Section and the Photo Gallery. Both of which I've been getting submissions for but never had the chance to post. Much of this work and updating will be allocated to some new "site helpers" which will be cool for two reasons. One, it gives me a chance to take a break and focus more on other parts of the site, and two, it'll give the site more of a fresh feel from one section to the next (much like the Showtape Review has right now).

Well I'm outta here. Check back next month for a full report on CV written by a "Guest Reporter". That's right, for a few months I'm signing over the Bulletin to other writers which should be nice. That way others can get a chance to speak out, and also it'll save you from having to listen to me month after month, year after year. Four years is enough for anyone to take! Definetely let me know how the new "Reporter" idea works out, and if it's a good experiment, I'll probably let others write up occasional Bulletins from here on out.

See all you in a few months!
(For once I get to actually write that!)
