ISSUE #51 - January/February, 2005
Back to ShowBiz Pizza.com Homepage

Hello again, and welcome to a new year of Billy Bob's Bulletin. I'm late getting the January issue out (or early getting the February issue out) so we'll just call it a bi-monthly write up. Sound cool?

I haven't been around that much lately which is unfortunate because I was really hoping to have more updates accomplished by now. But things have been busy since the Holidays. My biggest news is that I'm now engaged. A good 4 years in the making to - Sandie and I have gone through a lot together and just about every ShowBiz/CEC adventure I've been on, she's been right there beside me. So I've been pretty stoked about this new little 'life change'... that's the one thing I've always wanted to do - find a way to strike a balance between having a quirky obsession and a somewhat normal life. So far it seems to be working out pretty good.

So that's my biggest news. No wedding date set just yet, but it'll probably be a good year or so before it's here (I think we were kicking around the thought of having it around April of 2006 or so). I'll keep everyone updated. If anyone lives in or near Colorado you're always invited.

I do actually have some interesting website news to report this month, which helps to explain why I've been absent these past few weeks. The Fan Club is off to an incredible start this year. And I have to admit that it's been kicking my butt as far as production and all that goes. I made up a large batch of Club packs that I figured would last me into April or so at least... well they were completely sold out by the end of January. If that wasn't enough to keep me busy, the Club Shop has been doing pretty good too. I've had to re-stock several of the older vinyl CD-Rs as well because I've run out. This is why I haven't been able to add any of the DVDs to the Club Shop. I've had 2 of them completely finished and ready to go for awhile now, but haven't had a chance to make any because I've been backed up with other stuff. But don't worry - they're coming.

So don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound like a complaint box... the attention the Club has been getting is awesome and it's opened up quite the range of possibilities for ShowBiz Pizza.com. If we can continue to raise funds there's several options and new additions we can make to the site. Jasper and I have to get a brainstorming session together and see what we can come up with. Thanks to everyone who's renewed their memberships, everyone who's joining for the first time, and to everyone who's purchased from the Club Shop. Your support means everything!

Cool Photo of the Month
  • Don't know much about this photo other than it's Chuck with the Harlem Globetrotters. Thanks to Johnnyboy for the photo though!

Well I hope that everyone has a happy Valentines Day this year. Normally I don't put too much stock in Valentines but in this city it's impossible. For those of you who don't know, I live in Loveland, Colorado... the official city of love USA. Valentines Day is treated in higher esteem than Christmas here. We have all the lightpoles in town decorated with heart signs that have personalized messageson them. Somehow people can put a public message on these heart signs so everyone driving by can read it. The city sells "official" Loveland valentines, and there's a special mailbox painted red inside the post office where you only put valentine cards in so they get a special city stamping on them. It's insane. I dread going to the post office because the lines these past few days have extended out into the lobby.

That's my Valentines Day rant. Thanks for listening.

Well that's about all the time I have for this month's issue. I have some serious website work ahead of me so I'd better get started on that. Still got a few hours left before I have to go to sleep so I can go to work tonight.

See you next month,
- VegaNova
