ISSUE #62 - Feb/March, 2006

Hello fans, VegaNova here. You might remember me, I used to run this website before I dissapeared for a few weeks. My appologies for that - some very interesting and good changes have happened in my life that currently require my undivided attention. It's definetely interrupted the flow of the website remodel but at the end of the day I have to realize that there's some things that are just more important than this little hobby of mine. That being said, my woman's nagging me to get this Bulletin posted, so here we go...

My goal is to get back into the swing of things here - to get back to the updating schedule I had set forth back in January. I assumed that there would be interruptions but I've managed to get pretty far off schedule already and the year's just starting out. No matter, I just need to be more realistic about what I'm able to accomplish and what I'm not at this time. So time to kick it into high gear I guess.

I feel like I'm playing catch-up around these parts. There's been some very interesting discussion going on about the technical aspect of the Rock-afire Explosion in our Forum - if anyone has anything to contribute to this new pooling of knowledge I urge you to help out. This arena is of particular interest to me because I'll be setting up my show one of these days and I'm hoping to bring this antiquated technology into modern times.

Some of what's been uncovered as far as the inner workings of the Rock-afire computer system and signals is amazing to me. Also all the advancements made with keeping the show alive cosmetically is intriguing. My biggest fear is to see these animatronic shows and showtapes fade into history or being lost to the elements overtime. By working together we can breath new life into the Rock-afire and keep the last remaining shows operating indefinetely. I want to extend a personal thanks to everyone who's contributed so far, and again want to urge everyone to continue sharing!

As I type this today, I'm listening to our March playlist on Radio ShowBiz - it's been awhile and I'd forgotten what a great range of music we have playing right now. This month we have the recently uncovered Foxy Collen reel 'Irish Stew' added to the mix. The skits are short, but they're very interesting if you haven't heard them yet. If all goes well for next month I'm going to turn Radio ShowBiz upside down in honor of the month of April. You will all either love me for it or hate me for it. I've had an idea for the station in my head for awhile but haven't explored it yet. Next month will be one long test to see how well it goes over and whether or not it will ever be attempted again. So everyone has the displeasure of being my lab rats for a few weeks. At any rate, it should be fun.

And on that note I'm going to sign off for now. Like I said I've been away for awhile so I don't have much new news to report ouside of the affairs in my personal life, but we won't be talking about that. Oh, before I forget... if anyone has any old CEC candy or candy wrappers that bear the name 'Chuck E. Cheese' on them please let me know. Specifically candy that pre-dates 1990. CEC Entertainment e-mailed me looking for samples, but unfortunately I don't have any. Maybe someone out there does!

See you soon,
- VegaNova
