Last night during a taped interview with Fox News, Mitt Romney had some rather unflattering remarks to make about DemoCatic candidate Crusty the Cat. The slanderous criticism came during part two of Fox's fair-and-balanced three part series entitled "Obama: the socialist extremist Muslim born in Kenya".
While being interviewed by Fox News correspondent Foxy Colleen, Mitt Romney was asked what his feelings were regarding the upstart 3rd-party candidacy of Crusty the Cat, and, if he feared Crusty might divert away some of Romney's much needed votes. In response, Mr. Romney had this to say:
"No, we're not at all worried about the cat or his joke of a campaign. Let's face it, the only thing 'crusty' about him is his underwear."
And just like that, the "smear" campaign was apparently on.
It's been collectively agreed by political pundits that this 2012 campaign has been nasty in its tone, but this is the first instance where Crusty has been dragged into the mix.
Both Obama and Romney have been guilty of slinging abrupt and often unfair attacks at one another, though making attacks at a relatively unknown candidate from an upstart new political party has shocked pundits across the board. It's curious to think Romney would be concerned about the relatively few votes Crusty could possibly attain, or perhaps it's a testament to just how close this election truly is.
