Chuck E Says 2002 is a remake of the original 1996 Chuck E Says with the current voice actors. This version tops the original, because this one has really tight techno music! This version has the same exact dialogue from the first though...so you will still be clapping your hands, doing the twist, monkey, jerk, swim, and boogaloo.
The video footage is actually the September 2001 show logo. Like I mentioned before in the Land of 1,000 Dances live show review, keeping the video generic is smart because the attention focuses on the dancers. Really good idea, plus it is a really cool logo, too! (The Sep 01 logo is a 'blueprint' of CEC, showing everything that makes up CEC like birthday parties, pizza, etc.)
I really, really like this version of Chuck E Says better than the original. First of all, the techno music gives it a new flavor and makes it sound really cool. Second, the video footage is really neat with that blueprint looking logo from Sep 01. And finally, if you are watching this via Studio C, the show lighting effects goes nuts during this live. The overall effect for this live then is a really techno feel with the Studio C lights going crazy, the cool CEC TV video logo, and the funky music. I think they did a great job with this remake, plus this is a great live altogether...very interactive for the kids, you can have some real fun with Chuck E Says!
