1981 Billy Bob Doll
EST VALUE: $25-40
This is one of the first dolls released by ShowBiz Pizza Place. Only about 7 1/2 inches tall. Comes in 3 peices: The body, the overalls, and his plastic strap-on guitar. The doll is much different from the later versions - he is much shorter and has different claws, feet, and head. I have only seen a few of these dolls, so they are much harder to come by than the later versions.

Extremely scarce. In ten years of collecting, this is the only one that I've ever seen. Original retail sticker has price of $6.99. Estimated value based on an eBay auction.

1982-1984 - Acme Co.
Acme Billy Bob Doll
EST VALUE: $20-30, $100-125 (MIB)
This was the first Billy Bob Doll with the new design. 9 1/2 inches tall. Comes in 3 peices: Doll body, overalls, and strap on wooden guitar. This version better matches the other character dolls (which may account for the change in design). This doll was of better quality than the later ones also. The overalls had wide stripes, and the material is woven so that if you fold the overalls over, the red stripes can be faintly seen from the inside of the material.

1984-1990 - Oriental Trading Co.
OTC Billy Bob Doll (Version A)
EST VALUE: $20-30
This is the early version of the OTC version - or as I'll classify it - the version "A" doll. 9 1/2 inches tall. Comes in 3 peices: Doll body, overalls, and strap on wooden guitar. It's made better than the later OTC version, and closely resembles the Acme version. The suit has wide stripes like the Acme versions, but the red stripes cannot be seen on the inside of the overalls (all that's on the inside is a soild yellow.)

OTC Billy Bob Doll (Ver. A - Mint in Bag)
EST VALUE: $80-125
Here's an example of a packaged version. Although the tags are undated, the packages have dates. Mint characters are highly sought by collectors and prices seem to be going up.

OTC Billy Bob Doll (Version B)
EST VALUE: $20-35, $80-125 (MIB)
This was the later version of the OTC doll - or as I'll call it the version "B" doll. 9 1/2 inches tall. Comes in 3 peices: Doll body, overalls, and strap on wooden guitar. Like all the other Version B OTC dolls, these were cheaply produced and it shows. Glue spots can often be seen and the material of the doll fur is cheaper. The overalls have thin dark red stripes and in some cases, the red stripes look almost maroon.
