The (no longer) mysterious flicker card

This is a Ralston Purina cereal premium flicker card.
It  is 2-inches wide and 2 3/4-inches high.
In 1988 it came with Ralston Purina Cereals (Chex, Cookie Crisp, etc.)

The front shows Little Mac:

On the back there are some more or less usefull hints for the Game:

Actually it seemst to be a premium that came with the Nintendo Cereal System.

See what people have to say about its origin:
Company Director: "Come on team, we need a new product to milk this Nintendo franchise." And they did. Actually, the word 'milk' must have stuck into someone's mind when they came up with the idea to have a Nintendo cereal.

This was the box art for the aptly named 'Nintendo Cereal System'. As you can see, the box was actually split down the middle, and one half had Mario cereal and the other had Zelda cereal. The Mario side was flavoured 'Fruity' and the Zelda side was 'Berry'.  You can also see here that there were two box designs, each one with different Nintendo scenes on them.

Each pack came with a free Nintendo Power Card, of which there were 12 to collect. The cereal itself was shaped like Marios, Goombas, Mushrooms, Link, Shields and Hearts.

This was the advert used to advertise the Nintendo Cereal System. It had artwork of Link and Mario, both saying something corny. Well, that's the early 90's for you, and that's what happens when you let an advertising company take control of Nintendo characters.
