The Strategy Section - Glass Joe

Glass Joe is nothing but a joke. The French glass jaw will retire soon as he is at the end of his career. Give him some punches in the stomach or in the face if you like but make it quick. Easiest way to KO! him is to hit him quick when he comes back in the center of the ring after 40 sec. One well-timed face or stomach punch sends him down for KO!

Prologue:
It is well known that Glass Joe can be ko'd at 0:42 with a well timed body of face jab after he backs up. It is also well known that the ko's are random with him.  So how about a strategy to eliminate him fast after he gets up at 0:42 that works every time and does not rely on random stars.

Phase 1:
For the first 0:42 Mac needs to punch Joe where he is not holding his guard. If he is holding his guard low then hit him with face jabs until he raises it. If he is holding his guard high then give him body blows until he lowers it. At about 0:38 Joe will back up and taunt Mac and then come forward. As soon as he starts to come toward Mac wait just a tad and time a perfect body or face jab to send him down at 0:42 or 0:43.

Phase 2:
Sometimes Joe will stay down at 0:42 but to execute this strategy you need to get up. Joe will get up at the 1 count. As soon as Mario restarts the fight do not throw any punches at Joe but instead wait till you see him bring his right arm sideways which indicates he is about ready to throw a right hook. At this moment Mac must quick dodge which will cause Mac to speed counter (machine gun punches) 7 times to Joe' s face. Note: You must time the dodge correctly in order for Mac to do the speed counters (see nsm file). If you dodge too slow then Mac will only do regular counters. Immediately after the seventh punch has landed continue with one more face jab to produce a star (100%). Immdietely hit start to deliver it and get the second kd from 0:57-0:59.

Phase 3:
Repeat exactly the same procedure from phase 2 as Joe will get up at the one count to tko him between 1:12 and 1:14.

Well you did it. You have ended the boxing career of Glass Joe and given him his 100th loss. Time for the next opponent.

Dedication:
The desire for a strategy to eliminate Glass Joe quickly with 100% stars after he got up at 0:42 was the the motivation to write this strategy. Also I feel sorry for Glass Joe. It is possible to get Joe at at 0:54 for tko if he gives you 2 of the random stars after first kd. The above strategy is slower than that but the stars are not random and the strategy is 100% effeicient.
