1979 Four Corners - Winchester Store & Portrait Bot Footage

This is the segment from the Australian Broadcasting Commission show 'Four Corners' titled "New Eatery Fad" from 1979. This fad of course has lasted over 40 years and is still going strong today.

The footage in this newsreel is the only video footage known to exist from the original pilot Pizza Time Theatre location on Winchester Blvd in San Jose, California. It is also the only footage of the Winchester "portrait" style animatronics, and the only video footage of Crusty the Cat (an original member of the Pizza Time Players who was quickly discontinued in favor of Mister Munch). The end sequence with Dolli Dimples was filmed across town at the second Pizza Time Theatre location on Kooser Rd.
