President Obama Makes Stinging Accusation Against Crusty
David Barclay - USA Today

During his two-day blitz of battleground states following the third and final presidential debate, Barack Obama took a hard swipe at fellow candidate Crusty the Cat during a rally in Davenport, Iowa.

While most of Obama's speech was devoted to tearing down his main opponent Mitt Romney, Obama looped Crusty into the criticism - an apparent attempt to chain the two candidates together, illustrating that they would both be the wrong choice for America.

It's been a common line of attack against Romney - hitting him on his secrecy, both in regard to the tax returns he refuses to release to the public, and to his offshore investments which may allude to Romney's methods of dodging taxes. Today that same line of attack was turned toward Crusty, but with a much sharper and targeted punch.

"We all know Mitt Romney shelters his wealth in the Cayman Islands and in Swiss bank accounts. He's not alone in these secret and seedy endeavors however - it's come to our attention that Crusty the Cat has been stashing his jewels in a Parisian piggy bank!," Obama exclaimed to a cheering crowd that quickly erupted into laughter.

The criticism may seem to be mundane on the surface, but a closer look at the President's cryptic choice of words goes very deep with a targeted insinuation. Many pundits are speculating that Obama was alluding to nothing short of an ongoing affair between Crusty and his long-time fellow performer, Madame Oink.

For those not familiar with Crusty's background, Madame Oink was a fellow performer at Pizza Time Theatre where Crusty had his first big break as an artist and performer. Though rumors have swirled for decades, neither Crusty nor Oink have ever admitted or denied any romantic relationship between them (though many of his co-workers have privately attested to his infatuation with the "Piggy from Paree").

Suggesting that Crusty is guilty of "stashing his jewels" in a "Parisian piggy bank" is a direct and loaded statement, one which many pundits claim Obama would need solid proof of before throwing it out for public consumption - to levy such a vicious attack would be politically disastrous if it turns out to be entirely unfounded. However, if Obama's accusation contains any merit, the results could create irreversible trauma to Crusty's image as a loving family man and proud husband.

As of yet, there has been no immediate comment from the Crusty presidential campaign regarding this latest controversy.
