ISSUE #64 - June/July, 2006

Hello fans! I hope that everyone is doing well and having a great summer! Here at ShowBiz Pizza.com we're just getting started. I know I've been pretty transparent aroudn these parts for awhile, which I'll be happy to explain why later on, but first there's some more important issues to discuss - CheeseVention 3 is almost here!

That's right, the time is growing very near for the CEC/RAE event of the year. Talk has been growing for months now, and finally plans are starting to solidify. Moving the event out of MA was a risky move but so far CV3 is shaping up to have a great assortment of activities and entertainment. It should be a great time for all who make the trip out to Texas this month. For more information check out the Special Events Section. You can also pre-order the CV2 DVD release plus the older CV DVD sets. Don't fret though - after the Special Events Section switches over to RAP in a few weeks, the DVDs will be for sale in the Fan Club Shop.

Back to CV3 - we have a whole new batch of fans registered this year which is very cool. That was the idea behind moving the event - to bring it to more people. For me, this is the best part of CV... to finally meet more fans. Especially ones that I've known for years but never gotten the chance to meet in person. This is one point I really want to emphasize, that the whole point of CV is for fans to meet one another and hang out while sharing this unique hobby that not very many of us enjoy. CV is about the only occasion where I can talk on the same level to others about CEC stuff because others in my life just don't quite 'get it'.

White Fatz Flyer

But that's okay, to each their own right? Those who join us in Texas will have a blast I'm sure - it's definetely something you need to experience to truly understand. Those who stay for the entire weekend will get to enjoy the most fun too - we're actively working on an itenarary for our Saturday "CEC Crawl" which should round out rather nicely. We're looking to visit a handful of Dallas area CEC's, a few area Rock-afire shows, and hopefully topping it off with dinner at TJ Hartfords, you know, since it's the only one and we'll be right next to it. Of course everything I write here is tentative because a lot can change over the course of a week and half, but so far this is what's shaping up behind the scenes.

And I think I'm about tapped out on CV3 information for now - it's going to be fun. Now before I sign off I wanted to let everyone know the big news (for those who don't know). I'm now a married man - and married life has been interesting so far.

The wedding was pretty cool. Didn't get married by Billy Bob or anything - the wife wouldn't have it. But the wedding colors did end up being maroon and gold (close enough to red and yellow). Also I seamlessly slipped in Dook's "My Love", and Rick Bailey's "Never Running Out of Time" into the songs at the reception.

And that's my story. Check back early next month for the full CV3 writeup and photos galore!

See you in a few,
- VegaNova
