Mike Tyson - the TKO strategy for Round 1

The key to TKO Mike Tyson in Round 1 is to learn my Mr. Dream strategy as it is the same for Iron Mike. At this point I have to admitt that it was not me but Daniel T. who was the first person to TKO Tyson in Round 1!! But as you can see he used my Mr. Dream strategy. Read what Daniel T. -the Tysonator- has written in an email he sent to me on May, 7th 2002:
 

Hey Tom,          Last week I read your strategy to TKO Mr. Dream in Round 1 and wanted to use it on Tyson ,but at first I had my doubts of          whether or not that was true, but to test if it really worked I tried it on an emulator using save states and it did work as Tyson was          TKO'd in the first round. Then today I felt ready to try your strategy for the first time on my NES system. I started at 2:40 p.m.          eastern and came close on my first few tries knocking Tyson down for the first time in Round 1 at 1:06 and then failing to bring          him down quickly enough for the second time. I was discouraged but continued playing and at 3:02 p.m. eastern I fought Tyson          again and this time the unbelievable occured. I used your strategy of the quick punch slow punch and missed all but maybe two          of them and was able to knock him down for the first time in round 1 at 1:10. Then I continued the same routine fast punch/slow          punch and when Tyson started his jabs I was able to hit him with the very slow counter punch twice, the kind of punch that gives          Mac stars in the second and third rounds. Then I got a bit nervous and stopped the slow punches for awhile and nailed him with          regular punches followed by a slow punch that knocked him down at 2:06 of round 1. Then like you with Mr. Dream, I was too          nervous to even try the slow punch between his jabs and just continued to punch him with regular punches. My heart was beating          so fast and I was getting so nervous at this point that I could not even look at the time to the left of my TV. I just concentrated on          Tyson's jabs to make sure that I never missed a punch and then he never would hit me. Once he had a tiny little bit of energy I          looked to the left of the screen and the time read 2:58 and then I quickly punched Mike Tyson for the final time and he was          TKO'd in the first round at 2:59 of Round 1! That moment was so uplifting and was probably the greatest of my Mike Tyson's          PUNCH-OUT!! achievements. I could not believe it then, but now I am back to normal.           Thankyou Tom for your great strategy, without it I would have never been able to do it. I never expected it to occur so quickly          within the first 30 minutes of my first tries. But I should not be too surprised I bought and played the game for the first time in my          life in October 2001 and now we are in May and it has only been seven months since I have been playing this game. However, I          have always has something special. I don't know why, but I'm just really good at this game. Even though I have not even been          playing for a year I have done it all. This achievement is thanks to you Tom. I am not sure if I am the only person to ever beat          Tyson by TKO in Round 1, but I am sure that I did it in the least amount of time.          Thanks again RedTom, I wish you luck on TKO'ing Tyson as well, if I can do it in such a short time than you can too. One more          thing I did not use my game genie codes if you thought that I did. I am not a cheater I just made those codes to help others.          P.S. Random (Alternative A)
If you want to KO (not TKO) Mike Tyson you have to knock him down twice each round. It is not important how many times you get knocked down meanwhile, it is not important how many points you have got, not what Doc talks to Mac during the breaks and not weather you knock Tyson down with a star-punch or just with a standard punch!!
So when you are in Round 3 and you have knocked him down for the second time (for the 6th time over all) then you just have to wait and be lucky!! Most times Tyson will get up but a few times he won`t and Mario counts for 10 - KO!!

Expert (Alternative B)
If you want a secure KO on Tyson than you should take this strategy. It was found by Brian P.Sulpher . When you avoid any damage (blocking IS damage!!) and knock Tyson (and Mr. Dream) down twice each round he will not raise again after the 6th knockdown! - KO!!
